Rules and regulations
Art.1 – The Association Rive Gauche – Festival, Florence, Italy, is pleased to announce the 6th edition of its International Cinema Contest. The Festival aims at promoting the collaboration and competition of young directors and promotion and distribution of audio-visual works. The Festival also wants to encourage facilitate directors in their contacts with producers, distributors, actors who will be guests of the event.
Art. 2 –Sections of Festival It’s possible to submit works for the following sections: a – Short film in competition b – Directorial debut c – Innovative and experimental film d – Animation and films for young people and schools e – Screenplays Applicants must specify the submission section.
Art. 3 – Dates of the Festival The 6th Firenze FilmCorti Festival will be held in Florence, at Le Murate Progetti Arte Contemporanea in Piazza Le Murate, according to the following schedule:
May 30 and 31 and June 1 and 2 Section A (Short film in competition) and Section B (Directorial Debut) Deadline is April 30th, 2018. Only works submitted before this date will be considered. October 17th and 18th (in the morning): Animation and films for young people and schools October 17th: Screenplays October 18th: Innovative and exerimental film. Deadline: September 15th
Art. 4 – Requirements: Film: All the submitted film should not be longer than 40 minutes, included film credits. Animation and films for young people and schools: the maximum duration for every film is 20 minutes, including the final credits. Movies are accepted in any language, but they must be subtitled in Italian or in English. Even English film without same-language subtitles or hard subtitles be disqualified. All films must have English subtitles in open format with extension .srt or .tx Screenplays: it is possible to submit screenplays for both short films or feature films. Original screenplay for short films must be no longer than 30 pages, whereas screenplays for feature films must be longer than 30 pages. Screenplays must be in English or in Italian.
Art. 5 – Film submissions. The film can be sent a – by the applicants themselves. The films must be available online on Vimeo, or a link or other sites. They also can be sent by WeTransfer.: b – by one of the numerous platforms cooperating with Firenze FilmCorti Festival (Film Freeway, Withoutabox, Movibeta, Click for Festival, Festhome, Reelport, Cinemabreve etc.). In case the applicant chose to apply through one of the platforms previously mentioned, the entry fee might be stated on the site, and it will likely be in US $.
Art. 7 – All the material submitted will not be returned. It will be held in the archive of the Association which will be responsible for the preservation of the material, and the processing of the personal data of the applicants. By signing up for the Festival the applicant agrees that his/her films will be released and screened on the four days of the Festival, or on the following side or satellite events of the 6th Firenze FilmCorti Festival. Trailers or other material (with the exclusion for the whole film) may be published or released for disclosure and advertising purposes on the Rive Gauche-Film and Critique blog (https://rivegauche-filmecritica.com ), on the Festival website (https://atomic-temporary-141893875.wpcomstaging.com ) and on the Association Newtwork, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and Linkedin pages. Art. 8 – Official selection. The candidates selected by the Jury for the Official Selection for all the sections will be notified from the 1st to the 10th of May 2019, through mail or on the Blog (http://rivegauche-filmecritica.com), or on the Festival website (https://atomic-temporary-141893875.wpcomstaging.com ), or on Rive Gauche-Festival Network. The travel costs for attending the four days of the Official Selection, as well as the accommodation and living expenses, will not be refunded.
Art. 9 – The authors and producers admitted to the Official Selection must mention in their works their attendance of the 6th Firenze FilmCorti Festival, the section they have applied for and the prizes won, as well as the official logo of the Festival, the participation awards, and the awards they were nominated for.
Art. 10 – Awards. The award for best Short film in competition (Section a) is € 500 voucher for cinema materials. The award for the winners of sections b, c and d is a personalised plate and the Festival’s gold-plated medal. Other prizes for section “a” consisting in a personalised plate are for: Best Director Best Production Best Screenplay Best Actress Best Actor Best Soundtrack Best Photography Best Documentary Best editing Critic’s award Audience award. The award for the winners of sections b, c and d is a personalised plate and the Festival’s gold-plated medal. Second and third classified will be awarded with a personalised plate. The award for best screenplay (section e) , and for those that came second and third, will be the InkTip Package (it means the screenplay will be sent to the film production companies) and a personalised plate. The best screenplay in Italian for a feature film will win the Elena Bertoldi special prize.
Art. 11 – The opinion of the Jury, made up by experts, will be unquestionable.

Ha recentemente organizzato numerose iniziative sul rapporto artistico tra Pasolini e Eduardo.
E’ autore del saggio “Il destino nel cinema e nella realtà”. Sta anche curando un ampio saggio sui film sognati e mai realizzati da parte dei più importanti registi di tutto il mondo.
