7th Firenze FilmCorti Festival (7FFF) – Call for entries – Rules and regulation
7FFF Competition notice
Rules and regulations:
1 – The Association Rive Gauche – Festival, Florence, Italy, is pleased to announce the 7th edition of its International Cinema Contest. The Festival aims at promoting the collaboration and competition of young directors and promotion and distribution of audio-visual works. The Festival also wants to encourage facilitate directors in their contacts with producers, distributors, actors who will be guests of the event.
2 –Sections of Festival
It’s possible to submit works for the following sections:
a – Short film in competition
b – Directorial Debuts
c – Innovative and experimental film
d – Animation and films for young people and schools
e – Screenplays
Applicants must specify the submission section.
3 – Dates of the Festival
The 7th Firenze FilmCorti Festival will be held in Florence, at Murate Art District (MAD) in Piazza Le Murate, from May 05th to 09th.
Work can be sent until the deadline, that’s February 10th, 2020. After that date films can’t be accepted.
4 – Requirements:
Film: All the submitted film should not be longer than 40 minutes, included film credits.
Animation and films for young people and schools: the maximum duration for every film is 20 minutes, including the final credits.
Movies are accepted in any language, but they must be subtitled in Italian or in English.
Screenplays: it is possible to submit screenplays for both short films or feature films. Original screenplay for short films must be no longer than 30 pages, whereas screenplays for feature films must be longer than 30 pages. Screenplays must be in English or in Italian.
5 – Film submissions. Films can be sent
a – by the applicants themselves. The films must be available online on Vimeo, or a link or other sites. They also can be sent by WeTransfer.:
b – by one of the numerous platforms cooperating with Firenze FilmCorti Festival (Film Freeway, Movibeta, Click for Festival, Festhome, Cinemabreve etc.).

The applicant must send, together with the film, a brief summary describing the features of his/her work, as well as his/her CV, and Bank receipt for the submission fee (see below n° 6).
6 – Submission fee:
Applicants should send a fee of Euro 25.00 together with their work.
Payments should be made via Bank Transfer to Rive Gauche Bank account:

along with other documents in the art. 5.
In case the applicant chose to apply through one of the platforms previously mentioned, the entry fee might be stated on the site, and it will likely be in US $.
7 – Every filmmaker can write something about his work or send photos or trailer for the “Author corner” to Festival website:
8 – Official selection. The candidates selected by the Jury for the Official Selection for all the sections will be notified from the 1st to the 10th of March 2020, through mail, In any case the list of the selected films will be published on the Blog (https://rivegauche-filmecritica.com), on the Festival website (https://firenzefilmcortifestival.com ), and on Rive Gauche-Festival Network. The travel costs for attending the Festival, as well as the accommodation and living expenses, will not be refunded.
9 – The authors and producers admitted to the Official Selection must mention in their works their attendance of the 6th Firenze FilmCorti Festival, the section they have applied for and the prizes won, as well as the official logo of the Festival, the participation awards, and the awards they were nominated for.
10 – Awards. The awards for the winnes of Short film in competition are
– Euro 500 for the Best film
– Free waiver for at the Hollywood Screenings Festival for the Best film. Personalised plate, parchment and laurel.
(Note that the Best film of Festival also could be a Directorial Debut or an Innovative or Experimental film)
– For the sections: Animation, prize consist in a personalised plate, parchments and laurel.
Other prizes for section “a” consisting in a personalised plate are for:
Best animation film
Best Experimental film
Best Directorial debut
The award for best screenplay (section c) , and the second and third best screenplays, will be the InkTip Package (it means the screenplay will be sent to the film production companies) and a personalised plate. The best screenplay in Italian for a feature film will win the Elena Bertoldi special prize.
11 – The opinion of the Jury, made up by experts, will be unquestionable.
