Devoted to screening short film from Edinburgh, Scotland and around the world, The ESFF evolved from the Leith Short Film Festival in 2011 and has shown everything – from the first film made in Somalia in 20 years, to Oscar nominated shorts from Australia, the USA and Ireland, as well as short films smuggled out of China and Iran – and hosted visiting film-makers from China, Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland and all over the UK.
The Animattikon Project is a short animated film festival that takes place in the town of Pafos, Cyprus, organized by the Kimonos Art Center. It is an event that embraces a wide range of activities revolving around the subject of animated film: a series of animation workshops open to the wide public, conferences and lectures on the history and theory of animation, cine-concerts where music is accompanied by animation and vice-versa. Several side screenings are organized as parallel events.
Fest Anča International Animation Festival is unique in being the only Slovak multimedia festival focused on animated film targeted mainly at a mature audience. The festival aims to raise awareness about animated film as an autonomous art form, and to educate about its multiple types and aspects.
